China Trade Week, an exhibition held in Casablanca, revealed the perfectibility of the commercial axis Rabat-Beijing, yet in full progress.
There is no Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Morocco. An oddity when you know that the volume of Chinese imports, which has jumped 62% over the past four years, made the Middle Empire the kingdom’s third largest supplier in 2018, ahead of the United States. To take the pulse of this new reality, you had to go to the Casablanca fair where “China Trade Week” was held from December 13 to 16. This international exhibition, launched in 2015 in the wake of the “Silk Road” project, is a commercial platform that allows Chinese companies to explore new markets. In Casablanca, the emphasis was placed on “business to business”, or B2B, a term which designates the direct relationship between supplier and customer.
