This event, which was chaired by the Ambassador of Morocco in Côte d’Ivoire, AbdelMalek Kettani, was in a way the laying of the first stone of the Réseau Entreprendre Côte d’Ivoire. He recorded the presence of dozens of Moroccan and Ivorian business leaders as well as financing institutions and several young project leaders.
Created in 1986, Réseau Entreprendre is an association that raises funds from banks at 0% interest rates and above all that supports young entrepreneurs in the creation of their own businesses. Represented in ten countries around the world, including three in Africa (Morocco, Tunisia and Senegal), the association brings together 15,000 business leaders who offer to offer their support for 36 months to project leaders who are selected.
“The strength of our network, apart from the provision of financing to young people, is the support we provide them with so that they become great entrepreneurs and that their businesses last over time. It is not just a question of receiving funding, but of having meticulous support, the networking and the logistics essential for a good use of the funding”, explained the president of the Réseau Entreprendre Maroc, Mehdi Laraki.
He took the opportunity to present the Moroccan experience to Ivorian companies and financial institutions in terms of supporting young entrepreneurs with entrepreneurial projects. “You have to believe in young people. Our experience tells us that young people, when trusted, rarely disappoint. In general, they repay their debts,” he added. Réseau Entreprendre Côte d’Ivoire should be operational in September.
This association currently supports around a hundred companies a year in Morocco, with a rate of 86% of companies that are still in business after four years of existence. Globally, the network has created 30,000 jobs. Each year, a thousand young project leaders benefit from the support of Réseau Entreprendre.
