The bank is strengthening its support for female entrepreneurship. On June 12, BMCI signed a “Major Partner” agreement with the Association Réseau Entreprendre Maroc with a view to supporting social, solidarity and female entrepreneurship.
According to the bank’s top management, this partnership will help finance and launch entrepreneurial projects and start a program to encourage women’s entrepreneurship. “This partnership proves the strong positioning of BMCI as a dynamic player in the growth of the Moroccan economy and also comes to structure actions already implemented for many years within the bank, mainly in the field of ‘social and female entrepreneurship’, underlined Idriss Bensmail, Member of the Management Board and Deputy Managing Director at BMCI.
In detail, by virtue of this agreement, the bank dedicated a loan of 1 million DH in order to contribute to the honorary loan fund of the Association Réseau Entreprendre Maroc, exclusively dedicated to female entrepreneurship and/or with a positive impact on society or the environment. Similarly, the BMCI has also planned a grant over 3 years for a total amount of 300,000 DH, with the aim of contributing to the financing of the development plan of the association. The top management also specifies that in terms of support, BMCI will provide young project leaders with a monitoring program and put them in touch with its managers and experts within the Bank.
It should be noted that this partnership is part of the CSR strategy of the Moroccan subsidiary of the French banking group BNP Paribas, and notably consolidates its positioning as a major player contributing to the support of entrepreneurship and the creation of employment in Morocco. “Female entrepreneurship is an important cause for us. And we are committed to supporting all initiatives in this direction, ”assured Idriss Bensmail. Recall that BMCI is one of the two that signed a partnership in 2018 with the EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) for the deployment in Morocco of the Women in Business program, a flagship initiative of this European bank aimed at boosting the entrepreneurship in the countries where it is present.
It should be noted that in addition to the CGEM CSR label held by BMCI, its various CSR commitments have enabled it to be ranked first bank in the ranking of the Vigeo Eiris Best EM Performers 2017 index for all of its activities. economic, social, civic and environmental. “We have more than 320 business leaders who will provide the best support and assistance to our project leaders. This partnership with BMCI is very important for us,” said Mehdi Laraki, president of Réseau Entreprendre Maroc. As a reminder, Réseau Entreprendre Maroc is a Moroccan association of experienced business leaders who put their skills at the service of entrepreneurs.
