The 3rd edition of China Trade Week started this Monday in Casablanca with the participation of more than 150 exhibitors, representing sectors such as construction, interior design, textiles, agriculture, food, energy , electronics and consumer goods.
Jing Ning, Economic Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Morocco declared on this occasion that “China seeks to strengthen ties with Morocco, within the framework of the New Silk Road plan, as well as to consolidate relations economy in the public and private sectors, and give a vision of sustainability to Chinese companies established in the Kingdom”.
Organized by the Chinese group MIE Events, with the aim of providing exhibitors, visitors and various investors with the opportunity to come together and develop business relations, the event expects no less than 7,500 professional visitors, with a series of pre-organized B2B meetings, to increase the chances of meeting local buyers and sellers from different provinces of China.
The President of the Sino-Moroccan Business Council of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), Mehdi Laraki, for his part indicated that Morocco offers three very important advantages to Chinese investors, namely stability and a flourishing economy, proximity to Europe and presence in African markets.
Chinese companies, which are looking for new partners in different fields and sectors, use Morocco as a hub, he noted.
“We invite everyone to join us for discussions, to see the launch of new products, to establish partnerships. We are currently focusing on the digital transformation of the African market as well as supporting the economic dynamism between Morocco and China,” said Zahoor Ahmed, Vice President in charge of Strategy and Partnerships at MIE Groups.
The event also hosts the African Technology Show (AFTS), a conference that will bring together around ten speakers who will present the impact of the fourth industrial revolution on Morocco and Africa, such as robotics, autonomous vehicles, 3D printing and smart cities.
