Morocco is accelerating its conquest of the Chinese tourism market by adopting the “Welcome Chinese” certification, a strategic label designed to align the national offering with the expectations of Chinese travelers.
This new step further strengthens Morocco’s appeal to Chinese travelers, one of the world’s most dynamic tourism markets. The Kingdom is positioning itself as a pioneer by adopting the international “Welcome Chinese” certification, the only official standard validated by the Chinese government.
At the heart of this initiative is Yangjin (Yummy) He, a businesswoman with a fascinating background who embodies the connection between Morocco and China. Originally from China, she holds a degree in tourism management from Southwest Jiao Tong University and an MBA from Thailand. She began her career as a journalist and facilitator before heading up marketing for major 5-star hotels.
Having lived in Morocco for over a decade, Yangjin He has built a strong network in the business and tourism sectors. Through the creation of a travel agency, Chinese restaurants, hotels, an import-export company, and a service company, she has forged close ties with the Chinese and Moroccan business communities.
This dual experience, both in China and Morocco, allows her to understand the expectations of Chinese travelers while also mastering the realities of the local market. “I have always believed that travel is a bridge between cultures. With Welcome Chinese, we are building this bridge so that Morocco becomes a familiar, welcoming destination, perfectly suited to the expectations of Chinese visitors,” explains Ms. He.

The “Welcome Chinese” certification was designed to meet the specific expectations of Chinese travelers: communication in Chinese, suitable cuisine, hospitality that meets cultural standards, and convenient payment methods such as China UnionPay.
Companies joining this program benefit from significant visibility and promotion through the China Tourism Academy (CTA) network, with the support of official partners such as China Central Television (CCTV), the Chinese public broadcaster.
Already adopted by global leaders like Paris Airports, Rome Fiumicino Airport, Accor Hotels, and the Ferrari Museum, this label is recognized as a guarantee of trust and quality.
