On November 11, the Chairman of the Morocco-China Business Council, Mehdi Laraki, led a delegation of enterprises to visit Qingbaijiang District, conducting field visits and signing multiple cooperation agreements. The two sides reached consensus on building logistics corridors, expanding product interoperability, and promoting campus cooperation, and will jointly expand China-Morocco cooperation space in the European and African markets. Wang Lin, the Communist Party secretary of the district, accompanied the visit.
During this visit, the Moroccan delegation focused on visiting the Chengdu International Railway Port showroom to learn more about the operation system of the China-Europe freight train (Chengdu) and the innovations in multimodal transport. The “Chengdu-Port of Barcelona-Port of Tangier” rail and sea transport line, which opened in June this year, As the third “Rino-Europe-Africa” logistics corridor, the China-Europe freight train and Mediterranean shipping have been efficiently connected, allowing special products such as Sichuan hot pot sauce to be directed to the Moroccan market, which has become the focus of both sides.
The two sides then held a meeting. Mehdi Laraki first introduced the functions and outcomes of the Morocco-China Business Council and expressed the willingness to promote deep synergy between the two sides in areas such as trade exchanges and industrial cooperation. As an important mechanism for bilateral cooperation between China and Morocco, the Council is committed to building communication bridges between governments and enterprises, promoting trade and investment, industrial collaboration and cultural interaction. At the meeting, the Morocco-China Business Council and the Qingbaijiang District Commerce and Industry and Commerce Association, as well as relevant logistics and trade enterprises, respectively presented their respective strengths and cooperation intentions. DPD China on the spot to promote the “Rongoufei DPD MRT” products, the Hong Kong Investment Company showed the export potential of Sichuan specialty products. The two sides agreed that the international railway hub function of the Qingbai River is highly complementary with Morocco’s location advantages for radiating Europe and Africa, and the prospects for cooperation are broad.
Under the witness of the participants, the Morocco-China Business Council signed cooperation agreements with the Qingbaijiang District Commerce and Industry Association, ASI Group and Sichuan Silk Road Supply Chain Management Co., GELACOM and Sichuan Intercontinental International Trading Co., Ltd. respectively. According to the agreement, China and Morocco will establish a regular communication mechanism, promote deep cooperation in logistics, trade and industry, help Chinese enterprises enter the European and African markets through Morocco, and introduce high-quality Moroccan goods into the Chinese market.
The representatives of Moroccan enterprises covered the fields of logistics, supply chain, and international trade, and they have rich experience and resource networks in international logistics, comprehensive foreign trade services, and cross-border park operations, providing solid corporate support for the implementation of future projects. This cooperation is an important practice of Qingbaijiang district to actively integrate into the construction of the “One Belt, One Road” and build a new development pattern of “dual circulation.” It will further enhance the coverage capability of the “Rino-Europe Plus” network, strengthen the multimodal transport system, and help Chengdu accelerate its construction as an international logistics gateway city under the Belt and Road Initiative.
